Last Saturday, St. Helena College and Career Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Independence, taking the game 57-45. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Tigers are ranked 204th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Madison Prep Academy on Saturday. They put the hurt on Metairie Park Country Day with a sharp 65-45 victory. Madison Prep Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

St. Helena College and Career Academy has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Madison Prep Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 16-6.
