Basketball Recap: Long Branch Wins Going Away Against Monmouth Regional

After losing to Monmouth Regional the last time they met, Long Branch decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Long Branch Green Wave came out on top against the Monmouth Regional Falcons by a score of 44-35 on Sunday. That looming 44-35 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Green Wave yet this season.

The win made it two in a row for Long Branch and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Monmouth Regional, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Long Branch will head out to square off against Pinelands Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Pinelands Regional's defense has only allowed 19.4 points per game this season, so Long Branch's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Monmouth Regional, they will take on Freehold Township at 4:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
