Volleyball Recap: Wayne County Gets the Win

Wayne County won the last time they faced McCreary Central and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cardinals skirted past the Raiders 3-2.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (108-103) Wayne County actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-23, 25-23, 16-25, 15-12.

Briell Domi had a dynamite game, getting 17 digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August.

Domi wasn't the only good servers: Wayne County was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Wayne County's victory bumped their record up to 13-8. As for McCreary Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-12.

Looking ahead, Wayne County will face off against Knott County Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight. As for McCreary Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against June Buchanan at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
