It's playoff time, and Bayard Rustin had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Merion Mercy Academy Golden Bears on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Golden Knights as they're now sitting on seven straight.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 27-25, 25-12.

Ava Theiller paced Bayard Rustin's offense, picking up 18 kills. Theiller got some help from Madeline Doherty and her 28 assists. Avery Stromberg and Faith Hendrick kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Bayard Rustin's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Merion Mercy Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Bayard Rustin and Pope John Paul II will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Merion Mercy Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
