Basketball Recap: Cimarron Falls Despite Big Games from Ethan Butler and Avery Butler

Cimarron has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-59 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dibble Demons. The match was a 25-25 toss-up at halftime, but the Trailblazers couldn't quite close it out.

Cimarron's loss on Saturday came despite strong showings from Avery Butler and Ethan Butler. Avery went 9 of 22 en route to 26 points, while Ethan dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. That was a full 44.1% of Cimarron's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Drake Butler, who had seven points.

Cimarron's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Dibble, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-6.

Cimarron will be playing in front of their home fans against Garber at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dibble, they are taking a road trip to take on Stratford at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
