Soccer Game Preview: Catalina vs. Empire

Catalina is on a three-game streak of home losses, Empire a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Wednesday. The Catalina Trojans will welcome the Empire Ravens at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Catalina fell victim to Tanque Verde and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Hawks, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Hawks are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, Empire came up short against Flowing Wells on Monday and fell 3-1.

Catalina's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Empire, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1.

Catalina came up short against Empire when the teams last played back in January of 2022, falling 4-2. Can Catalina avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
