Eastern Greene suffers fourth straight loss at home

The Eastern Greene Thunderbirds were the 39-24 winner over the Edgewood Mustangs when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Eastern Greene took a 44-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Edgewood on Tuesday.

When it comes to explaining why Eastern Greene lost, one person who can't be blamed is Keylee Hudson. Despite the final result, she scored 19 points. That was a full 52.8% of Eastern Greene's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Edgewood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Macey Crider, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. Ava Laroche was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Eastern Greene bumped their record down to 11-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Edgewood, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.

Eastern Greene will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Shakamak at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Shakamak is ranked 167th, while Eastern Greene is ranked 157th). As for Edgewood, they will head out on the road to face off against Bloomington North at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
