Softball Recap: Pacheco Starts off Right with Win over Delhi

Pacheco gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Delhi Hawks. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered an 18-8 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Caidyn Lee was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Lee was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Lee wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Chavez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Coming up, Pacheco will take on El Capitan in a tournament on Wednesday. As for Delhi, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Hawks challenge the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Delhi is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
