Football Game Preview: Weymouth Wildcats vs. Brockton Boxers

Weymouth is 0-4 against Brockton since September of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Wildcats will square off against the Boxers at 6:00 p.m. Weymouth is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Friday. Weymouth walked away with a 28-21 win over Milton.

Meanwhile, Brockton played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 41-13 loss at the hands of Catholic Memorial. While losing is never fun, the Boxers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Knights are ranked second).

Weymouth's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Brockton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Things could have been worse for Weymouth, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 32-16 loss to Brockton in their previous matchup back in November of 2021. Thankfully for the Wildcats, Jason Wonodi (who rushed for 109 yards and one score on only 11 carries, and also threw for 203 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 passes) won't be suiting up this time.
