Basketball Recap: Cozad Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Cozad came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by the Lexington Minutemen to the tune of 77-42. With the Haymakers ahead 46-20 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Cozad was led to victory by Noah Shoemaker and Olliver Davis. Shoemaker went 7 for 15 on his way to 20 points in addition to five assists and five boards, while Davis went 6 of 7 en route to 15 points and six rebounds. The match was Shoemaker's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mason Fales, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Cozad pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lexington, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cozad will welcome Valentine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lexington, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Broken Bow at 6:45 p.m. on February 4th.
