Soccer Game Preview: Monroe vs. Peach County

The Monroe Golden Tornadoes are taking a road trip to challenge the Peach County Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Monroe's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Monroe came up short against Cairo on Tuesday, falling 10-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Monroe were already down 6-0.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Peach County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Westover a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering Peach County have won six matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Peach County, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.

Monroe might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Peach County in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Golden Tornadoes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
