Baseball Recap: Lake Zurich Takes a Loss

Prospect hit Lake Zurich with a six-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bears fell just short of the Knights by a score of 8-7. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Lake Zurich's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-11. As for Prospect, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-11-1 record this season.

Lake Zurich will host Warren Township at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Prospect does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
