Basketball Recap: Pekin Takes a Loss

Pekin lost to Morton back in December of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Dragons lost 58-35 to the Potters. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Potters are ranked 16th).

Pekin has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season. As for Morton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Pekin will take on rival Metamora at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Morton is set to face off against their familiar foe Limestone at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
