Basketball Game Preview: Overton Bobcats vs. Antioch Bears

The Overton Bobcats will head out on the road to square off against the Antioch Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Overton managed to keep up with Hillsboro until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Bobcats came up short against the Burros, falling 56-33. The game marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Antioch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against Lawson, falling 67-40. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while the Lightning are ranked 82nd).

Antioch's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Overton, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

Overton came up short against Antioch in their previous meeting back in February of 2025, falling 50-46. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
