Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dawson). They put the hurt on the Italy Gladiators with a sharp 21-13 victory on Thursday. The Bulldogs not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 11th (when they won 18-5).
Dawson got a massive performance out of Kenna Stoker, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Stoker has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Payne, who got on base in three of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Dawson and bumps their season record up to 7-19. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for Italy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.
Dawson will have a chance to go back-to-back against Italy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
