Baseball Recap: Kennedy Wins Going Away Against Barlow

The Kennedy Fighting Irish got the win against the Barlow Bruins on Monday by a conclusive 11-4. That's two games straight that the Fighting Irish have won by exactly seven runs.

Jonathan Arreola and Carlos Tapia did most of the damage at the plate: Arreola scored two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Tapia scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Those three runs gave Tapia a new career-high. Tyler Onofre was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Kennedy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive matches.

Kennedy's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Barlow, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Kennedy will square off against California at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Barlow, they will face off against Crean Lutheran at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
