While losing is never fun, Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 702nd, while Veritas Christian Academy is ranked 242nd).
Veritas Christian Academy was led to victory by Ashton Dillon and Eli Robbins. Dillon scored 25 points, while Robbins scored 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dillon has scored at least a third of Veritas Christian Academy's points. Lee Burgess was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Veritas Christian Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4.
