Basketball Game Preview: Dutch Fork Silver Foxes vs. Irmo Yellow Jackets

Dutch Fork is 2-8 against Irmo since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Dutch Fork Silver Foxes will challenge the Irmo Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. Dutch Fork knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Irmo likes a good challenge.

Dutch Fork is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: River Bluff, who was ranked 21st at the time (Dutch Fork was ranked 19th). Dutch Fork walked away with a 63-50 win over River Bluff on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Irmo was able to grind out a solid victory over Chapin on Tuesday, taking the game 66-55. The Yellow Jackets haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Dutch Fork has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points over those games. As for Irmo, their victory bumped their record up to 15-8.

Dutch Fork strolled past Irmo when the teams last played back in January by a score of 60-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dutch Fork since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
