Basketball Recap: Cascade Comes Up Short

Cascade has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Monrovia Bulldogs. The Cadets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Cascade still got an impressive performance from Brady Trebley, who shot 78% from the field to rack up 18 points and seven boards. Toby Savini was another key player, putting up seven points and five assists.

Monrovia's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Clay Tharp, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Najera, who shot 46% from the field en route to 19 points and five boards.

Cascade's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Monrovia, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8.

Cascade didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-48 victory against Edgewood on the 6th. As for Monrovia, they have also already played their next game, a 74-44 loss against University on the 3rd.
