Volleyball Recap: Sanger Extends Winning Streak to Three

Sanger hadn't done well against Clovis East recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Apaches came out on top in a nail-biter against the Timberwolves, sneaking past 3-2. This was payback for the Apaches, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sanger wouldn't go down easily and took Clovis East into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-19, 25-21, 23-25, 15-13.

Rylee Romano was nothing short of spectacular: she had 15 digs and two aces.

Romano wasn't the only good server: Sanger was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in August of 2024.

The win (which was Sanger's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, Sanger will challenge Redwood at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clovis East, they will face off against Buchanan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
