Volleyball Preview: St. Augustine Yellow Jackets vs. Clay Blue Devils

St. Augustine and Clay are an even 4-4 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The St. Augustine Yellow Jackets are on the road again on Tuesday to play the Clay Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Saturday, St. Augustine didn't have quite enough to beat Union County and fell 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, St. Augustine sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-17, 22-25, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Clay came up short against Bishop Snyder on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Clay was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Bishop Snyder's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-19, 25-21.

The losing side was boosted by Katie Douglas, who had ten digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Smith, who had ten digs.

St. Augustine now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Clay, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.
