Basketball Game Preview: Ingalls Bulldogs vs. South Gray Rebels

Ingalls is 1-9 against South Gray since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Ingalls Bulldogs will take on the South Gray Rebels in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. Ingalls is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Ingalls was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to Ashland. The loss was the Bulldogs' first of the season.

Despite the defeat, Ingalls got top-tier performance from Olivia Stein, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards. Stein has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Leah Stinemetz, who posted eight points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Ingalls smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, South Gray put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 55-44 win over Bucklin. The 55-point effort marked the Rebels' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Having lost for the first time this season, Ingalls fell to 4-1. As for South Gray, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Ingalls was dealt a bruising 67-36 loss at the hands of South Gray in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Ingalls avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
