Basketball Recap: Pine Ridge Comes Up Short

Pine Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 39-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Seabreeze Sandcrabs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-44 back in December of 2024.

Pine Ridge lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Henry Robinson Jr, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. That was a full 42.1% of Pine Ridge's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Wilmer De La Rosa was another key player, putting up 12 points along with seven boards and five assists.

Seabreeze's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Roman Sword led the charge by scoring 11 points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Anthony, who put up nine points.

Pine Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Seabreeze, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-14.

Pine Ridge has already played their next contest, a 61-52 win against Astronaut on the 31st. As for Seabreeze, they will challenge Pine Ridge on Monday. Seabreeze is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season.
