Preview: Community Christian Warriors vs. Dawson Springs Panthers
The Community Christian Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dawson Springs Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Community Christian: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while Dawson Springs has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
Two weeks ago, Community Christian didn't have too much trouble with Agape Christian on the road as they won 54-39. That 15 points margin sets a new team best for Community Christian this season.
Dawson Springs suffered their biggest loss since December 21, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against University Heights, falling 75-43. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dawson Springs in their matchups with University Heights: they've now lost four in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Rex Blue, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. Deacon Dever was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Community Christian's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9. As for Dawson Springs, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.
Community Christian came up short against Dawson Springs in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 72-68. Can Community Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
