Baseball Recap: Grand County Comes Up Short

Grand County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs. The Red Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Grand County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Breckin Shepherd, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Shepherd has posted over his last 12 matches.

Grand County's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Gunnison Valley, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

While Grand County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
