Softball Recap: Lamar Victorious

After losing to St. John the last time they met, Lamar decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Texans came out on top against the Mavericks by a score of 6-2 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Texans.

Clarissa Perez was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Saige Marshall, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Lamar's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar will face off against Tomas at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for St. John's, they will challenge Cypress Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
