Lakota East waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 43-42 win over the Springfield Wildcats. Given the Thunderhawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lakota East pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Springfield, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Lakota East will take on Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fairfield will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Lakota East surely won't give up without a fight. As for Springfield, they will host Wayne at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Springfield has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
