With a playoff win on the line, Athens Academy rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Galloway Scots by a score of 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Spartans sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Athens Academy was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-14, 19-25, 25-17.

Athens Academy found their leader in freshman Riley Muir, who had 11 digs and two aces. Muir has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Athens Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last five matches.

Athens Academy's victory bumped their record up to 26-12. As for Galloway, their defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-14.

Looking ahead, Athens Academy will challenge Lovett at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Galloway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
