Softball Recap: Highlands Christian Comes Up Short

Highlands Christian lost against Berean Christian back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Highlands Christian came up short against Berean Christian, falling 23-13. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Samantha Hopkins made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Nylah Filsaime also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Even though they lost, Highlands Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .684. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Highlands Christian's record is now 2-8. As for Berean Christian, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highlands Christian will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Olympic Heights at 6:30 p.m. on April 4. As for Berean Christian, they will take on Morningside Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Berean Christian's pitchers better be ready for this one: Morningside Academy has averaged an impressive 15.4 runs per game this season.
