Football Recap: Melba Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Melba was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 24-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nampa Christian Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 20-14 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Although Melba took the loss, they still got scores from Tylar Aggen and Rhett Franklin.

Pete Dice looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 214 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 30 yards. Those 214 passing yards gave him a new career-high. CJ Pond also deserves some recognition as he hauled in his first receiving touchdown of the season.

Melba's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Nampa Christian, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coincidentally, Melba and Nampa Christian will both be playing Parma the next time they take the field. The Trojans will head out to face the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Mustangs will host them at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
