Basketball Recap: Judge Memorial Catholic Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Judge Memorial Catholic can now relate to. They fell 70-58 to the Grantsville Cowboys on Monday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Cowboys recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Baylee Lowder continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Grantsville, to rack up 29 points in addition to eight boards and six steals. Lowder continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Avery Allred was another key player, en route to 16 points and six rebounds.

Judge Memorial Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Grantsville, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-1.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Judge Memorial Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Morgan at 11:10 a.m. on Tuesday. Morgan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Judge Memorial Catholic likes a good challenge. As for Grantsville, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Emery at 4:10 p.m. on Tuesday. Grantsville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.3 points per game this season.
