Soccer Game Preview: Opelika vs. Central

The Opelika Bulldogs will face off against the Central Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Opelika is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Lee-Scott Academy on Thursday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 4-0. Opelika's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Central fell victim to Smiths Station and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 4-0 to the Panthers. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Central haven't been shut out since back in February.

Opelika's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7-1. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Opelika beat Central by a goal in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 2-1. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
