Caruthers and Fowler are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2015, but not for long. The Blue Raiders will welcome the Redcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Caruthers is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Caruthers is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Chowchilla on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Blue Raiders had to suffer through a 47-7 loss at the hands of the Tribe. The Blue Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fowler). They put the hurt on McFarland with a sharp 41-21 win on Friday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Redcats just coasted through the last quarter.

Fowler didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Derek Luna.

The victory made it two in a row for Fowler and bumps their season record up to 4-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.0 points over those games. As for Caruthers, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Caruthers took a serious blow against Fowler in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 42-6. Thankfully for the Blue Raiders, Jerod 'Bubba' Smith (who rushed for 80 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 218 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.2% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time.
