Softball Recap: Napavine Beats Tenino for Their Seventh Straight Victory

Napavine had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They never let the Tenino Beavers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering the Tigers have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Dakota Lyons made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Hannah Fay was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Grace Pancake was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs.

Napavine's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.0 runs over those games. As for Tenino, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.

Napavine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tenino, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Castle Rock at 4:00 p.m. The Beavers are facing the Rockets at the right time seeing as the Rockets are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
