Baseball Game Preview: Myrtle Hawks vs. Center Hill Mustangs

The Myrtle Hawks will square off against the Center Hill Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Myrtle's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Center Hill's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Myrtle's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Central Hinds Academy hitters got past them. Myrtle took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central Hinds Academy on Tuesday.

Hunter Davis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Hall, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Center Hill posted their closest win since May 2, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Madison-Ridgeland Academy 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Ryan Brunetz was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

Myrtle's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Center Hill, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
