Softball Recap: Lisle Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Lisle challenged Manteno on Tuesday. The Lions came up short against the Panthers, falling 6-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Megan Bradley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Lisle's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Manteno, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Lisle will venture away from home to square off against Wilmington at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Manteno, they will host Clifton Central at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Comets will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
