Preview: UME Preparatory Academy EAGLES vs. Newman International Academy Warriors
After three games on the road, UME Preparatory Academy is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Newman International Academy Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. UME Preparatory Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 322 points over their last five matchups.
UME Preparatory Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season. They breezed by Advantage Academy on the road to the tune of 57-17. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-5.
William Barnes was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with three steals. The game was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Ben Stevens was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 82-29, which was the final score in Newman International Academy's tilt against Pinkston on Tuesday. Newman International Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-14.
UME Preparatory Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Newman International Academy, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
UME Preparatory Academy was taken down by Newman International Academy 56-19 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point UME Preparatory Academy was down 29-6.
