Softball Recap: Henley Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

Henley lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Phoenix, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's match. The Hornets put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 13-5 victory on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Henley is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Phoenix, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Henley is set to challenge their familiar foe Klamath Union at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Phoenix will take on rival Mazama at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
