Baseball Game Preview: Muleshoe Mules vs. Idalou Wildcats

Muleshoe hasn't had much luck against Idalou recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mules will head out on the road to square off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Muleshoe has given up an average of 6.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Muleshoe is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Shallowater, falling 11-1.

Meanwhile, Idalou came tearing into Thursday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Chieftans by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 22-10. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Idalou pushed their record up to 19-5-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.4 runs over those games. As for Muleshoe, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-13.

Muleshoe might still be hurting after the 10-1 loss they got from Idalou when the teams last played back in March. Can the Mules avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
