It was a good run, but JW North unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Moreno Valley Vikings by a score of 3-2. The Huskies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, JW North sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-8, 14-25, 25-14, 17-25, 15-11.

Leslie Romero paced JW North's offense, picking up 16 kills. Romero got some help from Nylah Lopez and her 36 assists. Lopez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

JW North's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 11-16. As for Moreno Valley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-17.

JW North has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Lakeside on the 3rd. As for Moreno Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Vista del Lago on the 6th.
