Basketball Recap: Klawock Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Keira Sanderson and Kaiya Marvin

Klawock was the 52-41 winner over Kake when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Klawock Chieftains took a 51-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kake Thunderbirds on Wednesday.

Klawock's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kaiya Marvin, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards, and Keira Sanderson, who posted nine points. Sanderson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Klawock's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Kake, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Klawock will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Skagway on February 4th. Kake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
