Softball Preview: Western Boone Stars vs. Southmont Mounties

The Western Boone Stars will look to defend their home field on Monday against the Southmont Mounties at 5:30 p.m. Western Boone's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Southmont's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Western Boone stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over Lawrence North.

Ally Lewis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off nine hits (and not a single walk). Lewis has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances.
