Jackson has gone a perfect 10-0 against Cascade recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Timberwolves will take on the Bruins at 4:00 p.m. Cascade took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Jackson, who comes in off a win.
Jackson had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Monroe on Monday. The Timberwolves were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Bearcats.
Allie Thomsen (2025-UW) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, Jackson let Kiana Holden (2025) and Elena Eigner (2025) run wild. Holden (2025) went 2-for-5 with one home run and four RBI, while Eigner (2025) went 3-for-4 with one home run and three runs. That's the most hits Holden (2025) has posted over her last eight games. Madi Jacquot (2027) was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Jackson lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Cascade came up short against Kamiak on Tuesday and fell 6-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Bruins in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost four in a row.
Cascade saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tessa Hahn, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Jackson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cascade, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Jackson hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Cascade struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Jackson took their win against Cascade in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Timberwolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
