Basketball Game Preview: Spirit Lake Indians vs. Western Christian Wolfpack

The Spirit Lake Indians will venture away from home to challenge the Western Christian Wolfpack at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Spirit Lake came up short against Estherville Lincoln Central and fell 54-41. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Midgets are ranked tenth).

Meanwhile, Western Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 63-57 to Le Mars. The Wolfpack have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Western Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Spirit Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.

Everything came up roses for Spirit Lake against Western Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 79-46 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spirit Lake since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
