Baseball Recap: St. Benedict at Auburndale Eagles vs. Briarcrest Christian Saints
St. Benedict at Auburndale had lost 18 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 2-14 to make it 19. They came up short against the Briarcrest Christian Saints, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Saints this season, with their most recent loss being a 19-0 defeat back in April.
As for Briarcrest Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-11. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.
For Briarcrest Christian's part, Brady Crenshaw looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave Crenshaw a new career-high.
At the plate, Houston Walker was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Holland, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
