Discovery Canyon piles up the points against Cheyenne Mountain

The Discovery Canyon Thunder scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Cheyenne Mountain 83-49 at home. Given Discovery Canyon's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Cheyenne Mountain is ranked 274th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Discovery Canyon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hugh Tarpenning, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Noah Eckles was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.

Discovery Canyon has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

Discovery Canyon will head out on the road to face off against Lewis-Palmer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lewis-Palmer has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 401 points over their last six matches. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Palmer Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Palmer Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
