Basketball Recap: Glenn Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Glenn and Wayne Memorial squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Glenn had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Wayne Memorial Zebras 72-22. The game marked the Rockets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Carlos Medlock Jr was his usual excellent self, going 11-for-14 en route to 26 points in addition to eight boards and six assists for Wayne Memorial. That makes it four consecutive games in which Medlock Jr has scored at least a third of Wayne Memorial's points. Austin Tory was another key player, going 6-for-8 on his way to 13 points.

Glenn has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 17 of their last 18 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-22 record this season. Wayne Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Glenn does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wayne Memorial, they will face off against Crestwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wayne Memorial knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 games -- so hopefully Crestwood likes a good challenge.
