Baseball Game Preview: Union County Braves vs. Hopkins County Central Storm

Union County is 9-1 against Hopkins County Central since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Braves will be playing at home against the Storm at 5:30 p.m. Union County knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Hopkins County Central likes a good challenge.

Union County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hardin County on Tuesday, sneaking past 14-12.

The team relied heavily on Will Bolden, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Garrett Shouse was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Hopkins County Central's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 11-1 to Butler County.

Hopkins County Central's loss dropped their record down to 8-19. As for Union County, their win bumped their record up to 12-16.

Union County beat Hopkins County Central 9-4 when the teams last played back in April. Do the Braves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Storm turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
