Softball Recap: Rice Lake Comes Up Short

Rice Lake lost against New Richmond last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Warriors fell 5-2 to the Tigers.

Rice Lake saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Musil, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Rice Lake has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for New Richmond, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Rice Lake will head out to square off against Chippewa Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for New Richmond, they will be playing at home against Eau Claire Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Old Abes will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
