Volleyball Recap: Woodstock Comes Up Short

Woodstock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Boylan Catholic Titans. The Blue Streaks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Woodstock was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23.

Julia Laidig paced Woodstock's offense, picking up eight kills. Laidig got some help from Kendall O'Dea and her nine assists. Finally, Cecelia Bertelsman kept Woodstock's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Woodstock's defeat dropped their record down to 12-23. As for Boylan Catholic, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 22-8.

Woodstock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Boylan Catholic, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Woodstock North on the 31st.
